Kenya Space Expo and Conference

The conference was conceptualized to provide a platform to carry out conversations around realizing national synergy in Kenya’s space programme and to achieve three key objectives:
Firstly, to create national awareness through showcasing benefits of space technologies and applications in our national socio-economic development; Secondly, to nurture and promote the development of Kenya space ecosystem that is responsive to the needs of the country; and Thirdly, to provide opportunities for networking and creating linkages.

The three-day event was conducted in three concurrent sessions each covering one of the key application areas of space sciences and technologies, namely, Earth Observation and Remote Sensing; Space Systems Engineering; and Space Science and Astronomy. There were also discussions on cross-cutting topics such as space law and policy, spatial data management, and space for national security. In addition, there were also industry exhibitions of technologies, products and services by over 25 exhibitors and several poster presentations by start-ups.
