The Ag. DG KSA, Brig Hillary Kipkosgey hosted Dr Benson Kenduiywo, Data Scientist & East Africa-Lead Climate Security (Climate Action) from Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. Dr Kenduiywo who was paying a courtesy call to KSA also shared their work on Climate Security Observatory (CSO).
The CSO is an online evidence-based decision support platform providing access to a range of global, national, and sub-national climate and security-related analyses for policy makers, researchers and other practitioners working at the intersection of climate, peace and security to better understand and respond to climate-related security risks.
Subsequently, they discussed on the need to collaborate on research, building capacity and possibility of institutionalizing the tool in support of policy/decision making process on matters related to climate and security.
