KSA Pays Courtesy Call to the Governor of Kakamega County

The Ag DG Kenya Space Agency, Brig Hillary Kipkosgey paid a courtesy call to the governor of Kakamega County H.E. Fenandes Baraza. The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of  collaboration between KSA and Kakamega County  on the utilization of Space Technology in support of decision making. 

The Governor noted that the County was in the process of developing its spatial plan and welcomed support from KSA. Additionally, he noted that the County Government of Kakamega was seeking to operationalize its GIS Lab to enhance the utilization of space derived data for decision support in diverse thematic areas including Agriculture, Health among others.

Brig. Kipkosgey thanked the Governor for finding time to meet him and updated the Governor on some of the activities being undertaken by the Kenya Space Agency. The KSA team subsequently held a meeting with the County staff to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
