Kenya Space Agency (KSA) today, 7 December 2022 participated in the second day of the Kenya Innovation Week exhibition and conference organized by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (Kenia) at the Sarit Expo Centre, Nairobi.
Mr. Charles Mwangi, Ag. Director, Space Sector & Technology Development was a panelist on the session discussing “Innovations in the Public Sector”. In his presentation, he highlighted some of the activities that the Agency is involved in to nurture and support the development of the space sector, more especially in relation to Earth Observation.
He highlighted some of the key innovations being undertaken by KSA that seeks to spur the utilization of space-derived data. This includes the setting up of Data Portal for Space Science and Geospatial data as well as the onboarding of the AfriCultuReS program which seeks to support decision and policy making.
In his closing remarks, he reiterated on the need to engage and work together with stakeholders as well as private sector in growing the space ecosystem in the country.
