Kenya Space Agency (KSA) Continues to Inspire and Engage the Youth through its Educational Outreach Programs

The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) continues to inspire and engage the youth through its educational outreach programs, fostering interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. In a recent outreach activity held at Embakasi Garrison Secondary School, the KSA's Education and Outreach Team provided an exciting and immersive experience for students and staff alike.

The outreach program featured interactive sessions on information technology and robotics ,GIS (Geographic information system) and rockery designed to ignite curiosity among students.

One of the highlights of the event was the planetarium, which provided students with a virtual tour of the planets,solar system and the sun. This immersive experience allowed them to have a deeper appreciation for astronomy. Additionally, a telescope viewing session was organized, giving students the opportunity to observe the sun.

To culminate the rocketry lessons, students engaged in practical applications using water rockets. This activity allowed them to apply their theoretical knowledge in a fun and interactive way. The students experienced the principles of thrust, stability, and trajectory first-hand.

In a bid to promote environmental sustainability, the KSA team, along with students and staff of Embakasi Garrison Secondary School, participated in a tree planting exercise. This initiative underscored the importance of environmental conservation.

KSA's commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technologists is evident through such initiatives, which aim to equip students with the knowledge and inspire them to pursue STEM disciplines needed to contribute to Kenya's space capabilities
