Machakos University Students Explore Space Technology at Malindi Space Centre

On 27 February 2025, the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) welcomed a team of 3 staff members and 57 Engineering students from Machakos University at the Luigi Broglio Malindi Space Centre (LBMSC) for an educational tour. The team received a comprehensive tour of the facility led by the ASI Manager in charge of the base and KSA staffs.

During the visit, the students toured the recently inaugurated Space Museum and the Monitoring and Control Stations, where they gained insights on Tracking, Telemetry and Command (TT&C) of spacecraft and launch vehicles. They were further apprised on the existing training and capacity development opportunities offered through KSA for career development.

The tour provided an exciting opportunity for the students to engage with space technology experts and understand the critical role of LBMSC in advancing space exploration and application in the country and globally.

The Agency with support from ASI looks forward to many more visits and is encouraging institutions to take advantage of this initiative to inspire the next generation of space scientists and engineers from across the country
