The Ag Director-General of KSA, Brig. Hillary Kipkosgey hosted the Ambassador-designates for the Kenyan Mission in Austria and Italy, H.E. Ambassador Makoloo Maurice, (Head of Mission, Austria), H.E Ambassador Fredrick Matwanga, (Head of Mission, Italy), and H.E Ambassador Harriet Nduma, (Deputy Head of Mission, Austria) at the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) headquarters in Nairobi.
The Ambassador-designates were on a familiarization visit to understand KSA participation in the global space agenda and explore how they could support the growth of the Space ecosystem by creating linkages in their designated countries. Both Austria and Italy, are important for Kenya because Austria hosts the offices for United Nation Office of Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) while Italy has historical linkage with Kenya courtesy of the Luigi Broglio Malindi Space Centre.
During the meeting, the acting DG briefed the dignitaries on the key activities currently being implemented by the agency. The Ambassador-designates indicated their willingness to support the Agency. The meeting agreed on the need to explore opportunities of hosting international space-related events in the country, scouting for capacity building opportunities on space-related disciplines and establishment of strategic partnerships both with the public and private sector in the host nations.
As KSA, we wish the Ambassador-designates all the best as they begin their tour of duty in Austria and Italy, respectively.
