The DG KSA, Brig Hillary Kipkosgey, and the KSA team yesterday hosted a team from UK’s Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC), who paid KSA a courtesy call to brief the DG on the outcomes of the recently concluded International Discovery Activity (IDA) project workshop, a collaborative activity undertaken by SAC with support from KSA and the British High Commission.
The 3-day IDA workshop, held from 30 September to 2 October, 2024 at Four Points by Sheraton in Hurlingham, Nairobi, brought together stakeholders in the sector to explore strategic opportunities for innovation and collaboration in Agriculture & Food Systems (Monday), Urban Planning (Tuesday), and Disaster Management (Wednesday) sectors through satellite applications and related technologies.
The discovery exercise was aimed at exploring space-related commercial, research, and academic opportunities in Kenya for mutual benefit through a Kenya-UK partnership. The SAC was represented by Anastasia Kasatkina Bolton, Richard Harlow, Wilf Prasher, Sarah Cheesbrough, MSc and Jigah Shah.
