The Kenya Space Agency held a workshop forum to validate the Kenya Space Bill 2024 and the Kenya Space Policy 2024 from the 17-19 December in Machakos county. The three-day event brought together key stakeholders in the space sector, including representatives from the KSA Board, Communications Authority of Kenya, Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis, Kenya Meteorological Department, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and the private sector.
The inputs from diverse stakeholders reflected the interconnectedness of space technology and application across various organisation of the governments for national socio-economic development.
The KSA Board will forward the Layman's Draft Bill to the Cabinet Secretary for Defence for onward submission to the Attorney General for review and drafting.
This milestone underscores Kenya's commitment to developing a robust policy and legal framework that will harness opportunities in the space sector thus positioning the country as a key player in the regional and global space industry.
