On 10 and 11 July 2025, a group of 70 third-year Electrical Engineering students and three staff members from the University of Nairobi visited the Luigi Broglio Malindi Space Centre (LBMSC) for an educational tour. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Italian Space Agency Manager in charge of the Centre, alongside representatives from the Kenya Space Agency.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity for the students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical experience. They toured the Operations and Control Centres, where they observed firsthand the Tracking, Telemetry, and Command activities undertaken at the facility to support several satellite missions. The group also visited the on-site Space Museum, which preserves historic equipment from the facility’s launch activities that took place between 1967 and 1988.
The visit reflects the LBMSC’s ongoing efforts to support development of future space professionals in the country and advance Kenya’s position in the global space sector.
